This was an odd day in some sense of the migration observed here...
the activity level in the first 4-5 hours of the clear & sunny morning
was excellent, then it seemed
An eBird.org hotspot now exists for Captree Island based on the White-faced
Ibis sightings. It should be available in the system within the next 12
hours.

The immature WHITE-FACED IBIS was present on the eastern end of Captree Island
marsh, north of Captree Island Road, between 12:50 and 1:10 this afternoon. It
then flew out with 2 Glossy Ibis, heading southwest. It fed in the marsh first
to the west and then to the east of the first pullout on
Nickerson Beach 20 May
A single BLACK SKIMMER flew into the tern colony (500+ birds there and on the
beach). To the west on the beach, a pair of GULL-BILLED TERNS mated. Maybe
they'll nest in the colony. SANDERLING were along the shore, an OSPREY was
fishing just beyond the breakers and a

Adding on to the early report from Anders, I'd additionally report
that this morning - which featured at least one MOURNING Warbler in
the Loch area, as well as at least 19 additional species of warblers
all thru the entire park,

This morning I spent about 1 1/2 hour birding the midsection of
Central Park. I started at the SW corner of the Reservoir and walked
the south side, along which I found 4 each of Black-crowned
Night-herons and Great Egrets. On the water there was a Pied-billed
Grebe, uncommon for this time
