At noon today two female Blue Grosbeaks were present on the grassy area

An adult Bald Eagle was seen this afternoon at about 12:30 PM, winging
its way northward along the Carman's River, perhaps the same scoped
individual reported on 11-21 a few miles south, from Beaver Dam Rd. No
other birds of note among the flotillas of Canada Geese and Mute Swans.

A feeding party of about a dozen common species of warblers that passed
through the Rocky Pt Preserve in mid-afternoon today included a
Philadelphia Vireo and one adult male Connecticut Warbler in splendid
plumage.

In early afternoon, the northern part of the harbor, viewed from Cedar
Town Park, hosted a small flock (about 5) of male Common Mergansers

At noon today a Turkey Vulture was on the ground, dining on squirrel al
fresco, on a street in Ridge. A rare sight on Long Island, and only the
2nd time we have seen a vulture here other than in flight. Some poor

Late this morning a pair of Common Ravens were seen flying across
Whiskey Rd., Middle Island at the southern end of the Rocky Pt Preserve.
They landed on a telephone pole where they interacted by mutual
grooming, perhaps a sign of potential breeding.
