In a brief stop at Croton Point Park this morning I did not see the snipe
that had been seen and photographed yesterday afternoon on the ball field as
you drive in, but there were 12 GW Teal and 6 killdeer there (as well as
numerous robins, mallards, Canada geese and about 80 ring billed

I searched around many areas of the landfill this evening (6:00pm) but
could not relocate the upland sandpiper found this morning. From the top of
the landfill, I did see off in the distance a sandpiper-like bird lazily
flying away from the landfill and eventually making it to the woodlands

about 3 hours and saw 61 species. birds included 25 American Kestrels (pretty
much 1 on every post on the landfill, at one point almost all were
