2 Horned Grebes were at the Coast Guard Station, one in breeding plumage.
A brief and windy visit to the western most Point Lookout jetty revealed
approximately 15 Purple Sandpipers, 15 Long-tailed Ducks, 1 Common Eider, 1

First the negative report: Last Sunday's GASSHOPPER SPARROW and the GLAUCOUS
GULL reported earlier in the week were no shows today at West End Jones
Beach.
Today, birds were sparse and hard to come by despite a careful search of
the surrounding areas. Highlights included the following: RED and WH
