To echo Angus Wilson's post, this morning at roughly 6:45am a juvenile Baird's Sandpiper touched down on the flats at Plumb Beach. The bird stayed for approximately 5 minutes. A poor quality phone scope image can be seen in the Ebird checklist here.

I snuck out onto the flats just before high tide crept in to try and capitalize on the coastal shorebird movement that was taking place today. Decent numbers of expected species were present with some obvious east - west movement along the bay and inside flats. Aside from 3 Whimbrels, and a

Re: my last post, I neglected to mention that after giving me all sorts of tests (they all were negative) I was able to go home that night, albeit, not until ~ 11PM ! Also forgot to mention the moral of the story...never go out to the flats on a hot day without liquids. Or in my case, don't get
