One HUGO (The one with two working legs and no tumors) made an appearance at
field 7 about 20 minutes ago. It flushed when a peregrine flew by, but didn't
seem to go far. No golden plover or LBDO yet. But Pectoral, GRYE, Dunlin, and
BBPL.

A forecast of mild overnight easterlies shifting to the southeast at dawn
prompted me to plan a morning seawatch today at Robert Moses Field 2. I was
joined by a number of other birders, and we were treated to a reasonably
birdy scene. Scoters were moving in numbers from daybreak up until just
Richly colored hatching year bird at the outer turnaround ramp to Field 2.

Gulling along the barrier beaches on Long Island was not as productive as I
thought it would be with only 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls in total. Even the
crisp Juvenile Herring Gulls all seemed to have moved on. Only a few seen today.
I decided then to turn my attention to Shorebirds, after I
Mark French and I hit the Black Dirt Region yesterday, as it's one of our
favorite places to bird and take in the landscape. From one of the vantage
points along the Pulaski Highway, we observed 2 GOLDEN EAGLES, see eBird
notes pasted below. At a different vantage point, we observed a juvenile

The *Brown Booby* continued at Lake Montauk viewed from Star Island Drive
at 0700, marking 38 days since it arrived. The bird was not on any of the
visible perches when I arrived, but was eventually seen in flight heading
towards South Lake Drive. There may be a chance it will remain for the
