The seventh annualUlster/Dutchess (NYUD) Christmas Bird Count was conducted
on Wednesday,December 27th, 2017. We’vebeen fortunate, for continuity sake, to
hold this count within a three daywindow from 12/26-12/28. 41 birders in 14
field parties along with two feederw
I ran my Roughleg route this morning. I started at the Shawangunk
Grasslands at 6:28AM and then hit eight stops in the Black Dirt Region.
The Shawangunk Grasslands were very quiet. In order of appearance, I
observed 3 SHORT-EARED OWLS (one of which dive-bombed a perched GHOW), 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS
Braved the West End Jetty at Jones Beach for a good showing young Male King
> Eider. Spikes are a must for the jetty. Viewed by myself and one other
