I observed the Brown Booby yesterday at the White Lake WMA in Hardwick Twsp., NJ on Rte. 521/Stillwater Rd..  It was far away on the dock but did fly a little towards us into a tree to roost for the night.  I was there from about 7pm to 8pm and it was still there when I left.  A scope is needed.

Having just seen some pictures (kindly forwarded by Dianne Taggart), I can concur with Bob Adamo and others regarding the identification. The booby has wonderful vivid yellow feet and uniform chocolate brown plumage, lacking the fine spotting of a similarly-aged Northern Gannet. It also has a blue
