hi So if it is a kernel driver, you don't need to bother about GPL of OpenPBX. What kind of driver (for what hardware) is it? And what has it to do with OpenPBX (which interface will be used with OpenPBX)? Armin It is a 4xE1/T1 board in PCI cPCI form. I will need to interface to this

There is no problem with binary drivers. The GPL provides a test where you can determine if linking non-GPL code is OK. Read the GPL or details but if the linked code uses a well defined interface and in theory there _could_ be multiple suppliers for the non-GPl'd binary then the binary, even
