Need help again. This time it's with MySQL on windows 10.
I have a fair amount of experience with MySQL on Linux and a little with it on
windows. I have real problems understanding windows and the workbench program
for MySQL.
Phpmyadmin is so much simpler to use for me.
My problem is I have
Ubit,
Problem solved. It only exists on my laptop, my desktop works just fine. I
have not used the old desktop for a year or so and it sure is slow, but this
problem does not exist on it.
I now have to figure out if the laptop has some setting wrong in Firestorm,
or possible in windows.
Ubit,
If that is the case, then something is set wrong in Firestorm itself.
I trust your statement, as you have never lead me wrong in the past, and
your advice has always been spot on. My regions are all using ubode too.
We have made changes using "Hover Height" months ago and it still
Need some help,
To test why using quick preferences "hover height" in Firestorm viewer does
not adjust what different users see I have done the following.
I launched two instances of Firestorm and put them into split screen windows on
a windows machine running windows 10.
I logged into one
Ubit,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Actually I did install using the bin folder directly from the distribution
zip. I then copied the one .db file for the statistic, and built new
FlotsamCache.ini file using the example file and the information from my old
StandaloneCommon.ini file. I did the
I have maintained what I call an assetcache-master file which is a composite of
every asset record my servers have ever created. As you can imagine it has
grown in size to a rather significant number of assets over the many years I
have been doing this.
The reason I do this is so I can use an
Unfortunately I deleted the file that windows tucked away and it was removed
from windows when it placed it in quarantine. the reason windows scans all
of my master cache is because I on my desktop so when I need to use my
standalone local opensim to try something or build something,
I run regions on OSgrid and today I discovered an asset was loaded into my
asset cache which failed Microsoft virus scan. It was put in quarantine, the
file was on my Linux server which runs the my regions.
Others may wish to purge this asset as well. Maybe OSgrid should be removing

Fred,
Thanks for your response.
Spectrum and Frontier are the two primary ISP's with high speed broadband
internet here in Tampa Fl.
It is opensim doing the "post" so nothing I can do to control that.
My servers are on only one network. Nothing on that network has changed.
Each server only
Ubit,
Thanks for your quick response.
I will be happy to give you a copy of the three prims that are bad in the
helo. I'll look for you online as I know you frequently show up at LBSA.
Your comment about doing the cache scan intrigues me.I do not do that
OSgrid distribution has that set
I run several regions. Two are 4 by 4 VAR residential regions for OSgrid
residents.
Region 1 is having a problem where it is using 28% of the server CPU where
Region 2 is only using 4% of it’s server CPU.
The two servers are essentially identical. However region 1 is the only region
or
Ubit,
Thanks for the information. It gives me the needed information to set up a
"trim" function from cron nightly.
I have one additional question, is an asset's modified date updated by
opensim if it uses the asset or does it remain the date it was downloaded
from the asset server once it
I run three servers each have a few instances of opensim running on them and
all of the regions are on OSgrid.
I have a common asset cache for each servers, that all the instances use.
Maybe that is not a good idea, but I thought it might help keep it’s size
smaller than every instance having
Ubit,
Thanks for this information. Today I upgraded my test region to the latest
release that OSgrid puts out which was November 8th, 2017. Oddly enough
they have changed this setting in OpenSim.ini to be:
;# {ExternalHostNameForLSL} {} {Hostname to use for HTTP-IN URLs. This
should be
I understand it is not an ERROR for the program to operate.
I would prefer not to get into a discussion of what is or is not an error
and simply find out what needs to get fixed.
Open sim is obviously checking something and finds it missing. If I missed
something it is my ERROR, if opensim
Today I decided to figure out what was causing all the errors and warn messages
in my console log for my region. Somre of my other regions have several
hundred of them appear at startup but I wanted to clean my own region I use as
my home so it was totally clean.
I have only one warn message
Ubit,
After some intensive testing today by myself and one other resident It has
been determined the problem is NOT with Nudist Island but rather with
Sanctuary. If I stop going to
Sanctuary and use any of my other regions everything works perfectly. Poor
Nudist Island got a bad rap with me
I have a need to get much better stats for individual parcels, much like the
osGetRegionStats() gives for a region. I see there are some functions that do
allow things like prims on a parcel to be discovered. My specific need is to
get much better information on both prim impact and script
Back in April of 2012 I opened a mantis bug report about opensim not recording
the date for “last login” in the GROUP windows and, “last rez date” in the
ABOUT LAND window.
These dates are in the lists of avatars in the various windows.
I updated the mantis bug report yesterday to see if this
Ubit,
After checking everything I decided to do a “warm” start, one where it is not a
total upgrade with all the compiled stuff deleted. This time the restart took
14 minutes which is what I normally observe. I guess I never watched a cold
restart before so I guess maybe it always took that
I just did a update to the latest release of opensim released by OSgrid and it
took 1 hour and 12 minutes from the time the command was give to load before it
enabled logins.
This is on a 4 by 4 var region that previously took 17 minutes to load. While
that is nothing to write home about, an
Fred,
I also checked my gridcommon.INI and this one statememt does not have the
http:// in the different addresses.
Could this be my problem?

Fred,
I read your response with great interest. I also have TP problems on a
frequent basis, and I switched away from Frontier and the actionteck modem
and went back to Brighthouse/Spectrum which uses a true pass-through modem
and I use my WRT1200AC V2 modem running standard Linksys
Ubit,
I appreciate the information. It certainly helps me understand what some of
these functions do.
I have been thinking about changing over to using ubOde now for awhile.
Many months ago when I tried doing that my residents went nuts because so
many things stopped working or worked
I am working on a script for a submarine and am having issues with it working
fine in ubode but will not dive or surface in Bullet physics.
Here are the primary items that are involved with the physics.
This is the initial settings the object is set with.
