Yes. You can upgrade directly form a mounted ISO image. Give it a go,
there
I have Solaris 10 u4 installed.
A live upgrade can install a different version of the OS you are booting from,
and will be just like doing it from the release I really want?
I might try that, but I'm still open to other suggestions.
Or, I could just wait...

Can you install Solaris using pxeboot without a Jumpstart server?
I don't have any other Solaris machines, but I do have a FreeBSD machine.
Is there a way to get Solaris to install from pxeboot via FreeBSD?

In case you are interested.
I recently sat in on a webcast with Sun talking about some of our work
optimizing OpenSolaris on Xeon. If you're curious about some of the
work we're doing, it's nice because I talk a little about the upcoming
Nehalem processor family and our work there.

Hi,
I am trying to run luupgrade to upgrade a build 65 environment to a build 85
environment.
I ran lucreate, and that created the boot environment fine.
I ran pkgrm on the following packages and then pkgadd using the new build media:
SUNWlucfg
SUNWlur
SUNWluu
I then ran luupgrade and I am ge

Fine - so disable the other drives and install onto a dedicated drive,
and then re-enable the others.
