Hi,
While attempting to remove viruses from my wife's pc, only one remains now. I
thought I would boot from the LiveCD mount the NTFS filesystem as read/write
and then run one of the online virus scanners against the mounted disk.
While I did find the necessary pre-built OpenSolaris packages

That seemed to stop it.. thanks!!
The only message I see but not as often is:
Aug 27 21:27:24 Zeus1 gnome-session[639]: [ID 702911 daemon.warning] WARNING:

Yes. Consolekit is not yet integrated. It is being worked on. ARC case
has been approved, and should be part of the new gdm.
But these warning does not cause any real problem.
Thank you.
I did a workaround for now to stop this message from appearing too, I added
this line to /etc/hosts:
It has Integrated Intel Media Accelerator 950 (Offers up 224MB shared memory).
The video seems to be working just fine its jut the mseg getting flooded with
this message.
Thanks,

Hmm, the intel drm driver implements 0x12 (18 decimal)

Recompile the intel drm driver from source,
with the error message removed?
Or a quick and dirty hack: remove all error
messages reported by the drm driver, with
something like:
echo
echo 'drm_error?w c3' | mdb -wk

I answered english at the language prompt and german

not affect the installation, which proceeded

what if I didn't understand german?
I just tried to reproduce this with the opensolaris build
I downloaded the 2008.11 ISO from the opensolaris.com web site and mounted it
directly since I was installing under VirtualBox. uname -a reports: snv_101b

At the text prompt I did say I wanted US-english but the desktop came up in

host OS the CD drive belongs to is german or because I selected a german
keyboard layout? Either way, how do I force english? You'd think

It stands for SolarisNevada__??? (where ??? represents the build
version of OS/Net aka Kernel and libs).
Asking differently: How did you obtain the LiveCD? If you burned it
yourself, which iso file
Is it working with the native video mode for you? I'm only getting

It does work in Vesa mode, but that's not quite what I was after...

Thanks.
But I would argue that you actually *DO* need it in good
conditions. If you choose the console boot option rather than
graphical, you need it. Also, if you choose the graphical option with
the liveCD, you have no way of shutting down your system without the
password. Shutdown
Whilst it is an RTFM case I think its a reasonable request that when
distributing the liveCD to have it printed on the CD or CD case.
When it comes to usability its sometimes good to think...what would Apple do?

Another way to go at is to think...

I suspect Apple wouldn't let you login or do anything that doesn't have
a shiny button it, so login information wouldn't even be necessary (it's
a joke folks, laugh)

I don't see anywhere on this site or on the case containing the 2008.11 livecd
information as to what the login and password are for the liveCD. This should
be bold on the CD case. How are we supposed to guess it?

Yes. But, my servers from Dell or NEC are not in *good* conditions. :)
