Hi,
we had a brief conversation in the channel about this.
My team at Linaro is planning to start working with Kolla after the PTG
to produce fully deployable ARM64 containers. The preference for us is
to produce Debian based containers, as well as any others that are

My vote is for option 2 to deprecate Debian as there has been very little
activity and operators seem uninterested in Debian as a platform.
We could always add it back in at a later date if operators were to request it
and the Debian team were interested in maintaining it.

My vote for option 2 to deprecate Debian images.
Since the last deprecation vote nobody tried to maintain Debian images.
No gates, not tested and not maintained sound like good reasons to
deprecate Debian.

Voting time is up.
Then Debian will stay in Kolla and anyone is welcome to toke over the
maintain work.
But if Debian is out of maintaining in next cycle, we will try to remove it
again. :)

Consider this a reversal of my vote for Debian deprecation.
Swapnil, thanks for bringing this fact to our attention. It was missing from
the original vote. I don’t know why I didn’t bring up Benedikt’s contributions
(which were substantial) just as Paul’s were substantial for Oracle Linux. I
If it's the case Benedict or noone else is interested in continuing
Debian, I can reverse my vote. Though it seems I'll be outvoted anyway ;)

As I mentioned in https://review.openstack.org/#/c/369183/, Debian
support was added incrementally by Benedikt Trefzer as recently as June.
So it's reasonable to believe there is at least one active user of Debian.
I would like to try get some input from him on whet
+1 for option #2 with same commentary as prior relating to fedora.
