i just compiled a attitude adjustment branch on mac osx 10.8 with
homebrew invironment.
the basic image compiles well, but after adding the feeds it stops
with the package luci.
here is the errror message:

i have this issue as well.
this is not only on asus devices, i got it on a x86 with 3 network
cards running as a router for vdsl.
the ppp number is counting up from ppp0 to ppp1, ppp2 and so one.
i think this is a problem in the firewall script, not the network script.

at the moment there is one profile for soekris boards, so called net4801.
but there are at least 2 more models, the 45xx series and the 5501.
the 45xx series is the oldest board revision and is based on amd
ElanSC520 and not on sc1100 like the 48xx series.
the target for soekris 4801 is not
so the boot issue with kernel 2.6.25.6 on soekris boards as shown in
this ticket https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/4172 is fixed, just tested
trunk 1 on soekris net4521.
