Hi List,
We are approaching the cusp of a decision
on how to store Oracle data files on our SAN. We dont have the SAN
yet, but it is due to arrive any week (if not any day).
I passed Carys Is RAID 5

Oracle 7.3.4.5 database. Server housing OAS regularly rebooted at 4:00 a.m. every

Hi Everyone,
We have recently had some anomalies with our OAS
server. On the weekend, we had an internal user try to connect to our web
Hi,
Any recommendations on good Apache books?
We will be bringing in Oracle 9iAS shortly. Third
party application constraints require the use of Forms 6i, which in turn
requires that we stay with 9iAS Release 1 (version 1.0.2.x.x). We
are currently running Oracle Application Server.
Hi Dick, Thanks for the tip. Metalink
says the bug applies to RDBMS 8.0.4. I tested it as well, using a modified
version of their test case. I did not encounter this bug at all.
Perhaps it is OK on Oracle 7.3.4?

Oracle 7.3.4 running on AIX 4.3.3
The ps command on our AIX box shows a UNIX process taking
50% of the CPU. The PID is 89510. When I try to find the
corresponding session on the Oracle database it returns no rows. Is there
a way I can map the given PID on UNIX to a session id on Oracle?

We are running Oracle 7.3.4.5.0 on an IBM/AIX RISC
System/6000: Version 2.3.4.0.0.
When I attempt to run DBV I get the following error messages

following errors:

based on our number of licenses. Can anybody
confirm this for me?
I have also set up a TAR with Oracle
Support, and they too say we need to increase the SESSION parameter (but we
want to confirm it has no link to licenses).
Thanks again!

However, I did note that the listener.log file was 200 MB in size. Would
the large size of the listener.log file contribute to the Listener
hanging? This problem has occurred 6 to 8 times in the past couple of
weeks. I do plan on starting a new listener.log file.

What is the duration of the data in the table? Is it session or transaction?
If it's session, you need an intervening commit.
