This was true even for 6i after about patchset 6, IIRC. Many notes on metalink concerning this. In a nutshell.. 1. install VNC 2. start a vnc server at a specific screen address, such as 11 3. add a "export DISPLAY=host:11" to the .profile of the reports server. 4. go have a beer.
