I just received my CD pack for 9.2. There are some CD's
in the pack for Oracle Pure Name Address - North America, North America -
Geocode, Latin America, etc. Any idea what these are used for? I
didn't get these with my 9.1 release.

Platform: Dell 8200 / XP Prof.
I previously had 9.1 installed on my stand alone
PC.
I de-installed 9.1 and removed all associated
files.
I installed 9.2. Everything went fine until I got near
the end when I ran into an error.
The feedback I got is:

I have a DB connection problem that I cannot resolve and need
your help.
Standalone Dell 8200 PC using XP Prof. with 61.6 GB of free
space.
A couple of days ago I installed my9.2 DB successfully
and was able to connect with SQL*Plus and TOAD.

I have installed 9.0.1 on my Dell PC with XP

When I installed it I installed the demo DB and everything

Oracle 9i on XP Prof.
DB is on a single PC.
When I try to do a DB connection I get this error.
Yesterday I created a second DB on my PC and was able to connect successfully to

I am logged into SQL*Plus. I enter "set pause
on". I run a simple select statement. Boom!! SQL*Plus instantly logs
out.
If I don't set pause on the code works and I stay
in SQL*Plus.
Any idea what is causing this?

I am working through the book "OCP Intro to
Oracle9i; SQL Exam Guide" by Jason Couchman. On page 6 they say to run the
script utlsampl.sql to create objects. So, I have run it from the Command
Prompt, SQL*Plus and the SQLPlus Worksheet with the same problem. I have
checked Oracle Press

The last command is EXIT, so you disconnect and exit.

It appears that I will be taking over an Oracle production DBA
position in about a week from another DBA. I would like suggestions as to
specifically I should be looking for from this person. Something like a
check list. Items that I need to specifically look at.
