Lovely picture, I have found it difficult to photograph well, probably because
auto-focus has a problem reading dark red.

To all those who rendered comment on the importance
of colour perception in orchid judges, I would like to extend my gratitude for
the time and trouble taken.
I found it most interesting and informative, and
hope that others did too.

Hi,I am interested in opinions on the
importance of "normal" colour perception in orchid judges.Since it appears
that all people perceive colour differently to some extent, how "abnormal" must
colour vision be before it presents a problem.

. I however do have different names for
them - I call them autogamous and normal S. plicata (what else?) and I value
my ability to see them as separate things, because they would be used very
differently in any Spathoglottis breeding program that I may undertake.

This is a lot more airy-fairy - but its elegance appeals to the aberrant

As I remember, Graphite was used by Prof Joseph Arditti as a colourant for
agar about 30+ years ago when he was working with antimicrobials in culture
media which would have been trapped by charcoal.
A good source of powdered graphite is puff lubricant for keyholes.
