Lukas, get the paid version if for no other reason than to support Osmand.
Their product is fantastic!
We are currently on a 3 month cycling tour across Europe and Osmand has been
absolutely great!

As noted, you can create a GPX elsewhere and import it into OsmAnd. But
plotting it on OsmAnd itself will result in better turn-by-turn
navigation. Here's a video on the subject: https://youtu.be/mMcw4kYmfPk
But use OsmAnd's regular plotting feature vie the directions button, the

Hi Lukas,
last year I used QMapShack to plan a trip on my PC (Linux) and managed
to transfer the GPX files for use in OSMAnd.
Cheers :o)

Hey guys
I'm new to Osmand and was wondering if it's possible to plan a trip on your
laptop and download it to your phone afterwards. Haven't found information

I suspect there are better apps if you primarily want navigation. OsmAnd's
routing can be flaky. And as others have said, it tends to use a lot of
power in navigation mode - too colourful/complex perhaps.
I primarily use it overseas as, can
Not sure, I could understand, I think New Zealnd takes 2-3 hours max to
generate the map. And all maps are generated 8-9 days.
Live maps are quick cause they are generated incrementally but they require
24/7 monitoring system to properly catch up with all changes.

As the live update works with tiny files (just the diffs), the live update
system won't need much processing power in comparison with the complete
map. I can understand why the live updates are working well and the normal
maps are struggling.
What I would prefer would be free live update for
