I am using the last build "full android" on Lineageos 17.1 - which is
Android 10 - WITHOUT any problems.

I disabled several maps, contours, etc. Result = Route plotted OK.
Re-enabled them - Problem returned.
Methodical testing found the culprit. The weird thing is, it was South
West England, and the route was totally well within South
