I think the doula listing on your site is a great
idea, you are correct that it is a way for the people accessing your site to be
able to find doula's in their area and itcan behard to find doula
listings, it is a great way for doulas to get more out there.
I think the
I believe too, that some doulas do not agree with the 'guidelines' that doulas
registered there are asked to abide by. Some of the guidelines go against some
doulas I know work ethic and beliefs about their work as doulas.
I think a register is a great idea Kelly. Just somewhere where women can
Have to agree wholeheartedly with you Abby!

Dear Folks,Apparently last Sunday (26 March) in the Sun-Herald (Sydney paper) on page 76 there is an article called "Lonely beginnings for fathers of the revolution." I provided some material for this article and the journalist was going to let me see it before it went to print. Unfortunately

Kelly,
Findadoula.com is a free listing service as you
know. If people do not list, then they will not appear on the listing. We sent
out more than 2000 emails more than a month ago to doulas on our mailing list
and on other lists and the response to list was moderate. I run

You may have been unlucky Kelly. The listing for
findadoula.com does come up if you put in "find a doula" australia. It comes up
as a paid advertisement on the left of the page. In addition, the link to
Childbirth International comes up and the page that it links to promotes
Have you tried a library? Most of them keep

I will try and get a copy for you but when a
similar thing has happenned to me in rural Vic... if you call the paper they can
send copies either directly to you or your local newsagent (if you have one
!). As well as copies been kept in most libraries (public, uni etc) is

Nikki,
Thats great but I feel that
you would have a much better response and investment spending that money where
the pregnant women are and promoting what we are all about, rather than
advertise in the hope they will know what to look for on Google. I have never

Yes I have tried the libraries. The local Canberra library doesn't get the Sunday Sydney papers but only the weekday ones. Sigh. Oh hang on... I can pop over to the National Library. They'll have it!!! One of the advantages of living in Canberra. Thanks for the idea.David[EMAIL PROTECTED]On
Hey david
I found the link to the paid version but couldn't find a downloadable
copy which is unusual.

I have been trying to find a Doula for a friend who lives in Darwin. This is part of
what I got when I googled Doula and Darwin.
I have had no luck yet. I have emailed CEA in Darwin twice with no reply. It isnt
as easy as it looks. MM
Cheap flights to Doula, who goes there?
Cheap deals

This is all great guys, advertising it
where you are but you need to advertise or have lists publicly available in the
mainstream and this is not to imply anyone is more alternative
that the other. At the moment you are all advertising where you know people
will want Doulas
Try these as
starters.
