A number of staff in our unit have commented that babies who have Hep B
immunisation just after birth seem much more unsettled for the first
24-48 hrs than those babies who don't have the immunisation .Has anyone
else noticed this or are we just imaging things ?? Our unit has only

We have a policy that allows co-sleeping.We had more concerns about
babies falling out of bed(did actually happen) rather than them being
smothered by mums so our policy just makes sure the bed rail is up on
which ever side of mum the baby is sleeping with a pillow against the
bed

SSD is silver sulphadiazine or Silvazine is the trade name.It has been used as
the treatment for burns for more than 20 years it has good antibiotic
properties and encourages moist wound healing .Have not seen any side effects
from it in 30 years of nursing.

After reading about Blackmores SSPC on this list awhile ago I have suggested its use
to a number of women with severe hyperemisis with very good results.Vomiting seems to
settle completely and they say they feel great.SSPC is only available with a naturpath
prescription or from a chemist that

we use fenugreek often in our unit with good results.The studies indicate a minimum of
3 grams a day is reqired for any effect ,ie to maintain supply. To increase supply up
to 6 grams is required , these doses are usually divided up and given tds with
