Hi folks,
I have an exceedingly simple thing I’d like to be able to animate in Paraview,
and I can’t seem to figure out how. I’m thinking it’s stunningly easy, but I
just can’t see it!
I am working with some agricultural remote sensing data. My data input format
is very, very simple – just

Hi Chris,
I believe that you can link against ParaView from a standard Makefile by using
the `paraview-config` executable that gets built when building ParaView. An
example of how to do this is something like this:
ifeq "$(USE_PARAVIEW)" "true"
PARAVIEW_CONFIG =
Thanks T.J. Your suggestions has resolved the VTK issue. I did not know that it
was a submodule. I just learned that submodules exist from this actually haha.
I see that the examples for Catalyst are under the Paraview source tree. I was
able to get Paraview to build with Catalyst. I compiled
Thanks a lot!!

Hello
You can use the filter ParticleToPathLines on the TableToPoints filter to
visualize the path of your particle.

I am unable to load your pvsm.
Please provide all the data needed by your pvsm in order for me to load it.

Your data does not seem to be correctly formated.
Can you send me an associated pvsm file ?

Hi Tim,
Are you loading a sequentially numbered file series? If so, you could
simply renumber the names of the files in the second and third files
so they range from 0 to 750.
Another option is to use a .pvd file to describe the time series and
explicitly list the times for each file. See
I'm pretty sure it will not work with the new OpenGL2 backend, it may work
with the old OpenGL backend as microsoft provides a software implementation
of opengl 1.4 with their OSs. That card is not really intended for graphics
so the rendering performance may be a bit slow.

Hey all,
I'm trying something very simple, but it doesn't seem to work. I have
multiple sequences of data that can be played in an animation. All these
sequences follow each other, creating one long animation. They all have a
length of 250 steps, but when I load them, they all play at the same
apologize I should have sent this email to the Xdmf mailing list. Doing so

hi Chuck;
many thanks for your reply and for the link. As a side question, do you
know whether there is some link you could point me to and which describes
how to migrate from version 2 to version 3 for Xdmf; Is such a
documentation available? The following wiki is lacking information about it:
Please keep the ml in the loop so everyone can follow this.
Please open you csv data, save it as a .vtp file and send it to me (if it's
not too big)
