Hi,
I am rather new to Paraview and have used it so far to view binary vtu files

Now I have received results files generated by SEMCAD. They are in vtr format
(ASCII) and rather large. The problem is that Paraview crashes immediately

I want to superpose different contour plots, each one having one contour line.
They are color coded, i.e. I use the solid color and assign one color to each
of the lines. Now I would like to have a legend for the resulting plot. Is
there a way to build a customized legend, or a possibility
(ParaView 5.1.2 under Linux).
Thank you!

Matthias,
You could change

[red line here] Variant 2
[green line here] Variant 3
How can I generate such a legend?
Thank you,
Matthias

Hi,
from a 3D dataset, I need to view a slice and streamlines from a line source
lying in the slice plane. The problem is that the slice and the streamlines are
overlapping, and part of the streamlines are covered by the slice. I cannot
change the origins of slice or streamlines in order to
Hi,
I want to visualize the gradient of a potential, calculated in 3D, on a slice,
with some coputours. My workflow is:
* Open dataset (vtu),
* apply "gradient of unstructured dataset" filter,
* apply calculator to compute the magnitude of the gradient,
*
Works perfectly, thank you!

Hi,
when I use the gradient filter (unstructured dataset), I observe edge effects
which are IMO unphysical. For the nodes on the outer boundary of my domain, the
gradient magnitude is smaller than I would expect. The behavior is like the
filter tries to use the adjacent nodes to calculate the
ing around...
