Lame allows you to save and to open mp3 files. All you need to do, is copy
lamenc.dll into your goldwave folder, and then you're all set.

I think what you will need to do, is to origionally rip the CD into mp3
with your choice of a ripper, and tell the ripper to only make one mp3 of
the entire CD. Then simply put that one mp3 file in the CD layout, and
burn.

Rockbox does work with the IPod Nano, and yes, it will speak all the menus,
well, actually, I should say 99 percent of the menus. Yes, you can most
deffinently navigate your library using it, and can ajust the settings, and
navigate your playlist, etc. It will also once installed, notice I
stream, but it may not be a bad way to record.
