Digital talking books are now in use in most English-speaking

You can usually find the settings you are looking for in sounds and audio
devices in the control pannel. Once you get there, you should find audio,
and then make sure under the recording options, your line-in is checked.
There should be a check box out beside it. You can still here the audio
through your speakers, even if theat box in unchecked. Hope this helps!

RE: hardware mp3 players with lots of gb's

2004-05-31 Thread Aman Singer
Hi.
The Jukebox and Jukebox studio are MP3 players only. The Recorder is a
recording unit, as is the Recorder V2. The FM recorder is a recorder with an
FM radio. All recorders play Mp3s.
As to size, the recorder V2 is thinner and smaller than the player
and other recorder units, as is the FM recorder. It has ten buttons instead
of six, it has a lithium-ion battery pack, and I believe the only size you
can get one in is 20 GB. The FM recorder and recorder V2 have the same form
factor. The only difference between the two units is the FM radio in the FM
recorder. Note that FM recorders and recorder V2s have USB 2.0. Players
usually have 1.1. Older non-V2 recorders sometimes have 1.1 and sometimes
2.0. It's difficult to tell to which specification of USB The older
recorders conform.
I have heard that the Recorder V2s, FM recorders, and most older
recorders have comparable sound quality. The players, particularly the older
players, are said to have worse sound. For a good overview of the
differences and similarities between the jukebox models in table format, see
http://rockbox.haxx.se/docs/devicechart.html

Re: real player timing out

2004-05-31 Thread Mike Mote
Perhaps in your buffering settings, or it could be in your internet
connection settings, if you have the box checked to disconnect if idle for a
certain time. Even though you have activity with streaming audio, sometimes
I've seen that happen. If you have high speed internet, that doesn't apply.
In that case, maybe something is going on where someone is resetting your
network. That could also be it. I've had that happen before.

Total Recorder help, please!

2004-05-31 Thread Cynthia Handel
I'm still having problems configuring Total Recorder Professional Edition to
automatically split tracks. I thought I had it set up correctly, but it
saved the album as only one track, again. I must be missing something and
would appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to help. If you'd
like to email me privately, that would be fine. My email address is:

program for cataloging CDs

2004-05-31 Thread Kurt E. Yount
I am looking for a user friendly program to catalog my CDs. What I want
is something where I put the disks in, hit return or something and it
makes a file of what is on the CD. I would then like that to be printed
out as a TXT file or something else. Any suggestions? Kurt

Could whomever it was who posted help for rhapsody please repost? I
downloaded it again and while WinEyes does make it somewhat more useable
than did JFW, I am still baffled. Some would say I spend my life
constantly
baffled and they well may be right, SMILES! Many thanks!

iRiver Says No Support for Audible Books

2004-05-31 Thread Gary King
The text below is a response to my suggestion to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
that they support the Audible book file format in their hard disk-based
players such as the iHP-120. The text is as follows:

Hello Gary,

iRiver will not be supporting Audible books due to file format conflicts
that occur between the player and the book file.

Re: sblive 5.1 rear speaker problems.

2004-05-31 Thread doc
have you tried moving the rear channel jack to the front channel to make
sure the problem is not in the speakers themselves? Also, you might go into
the diagnostic section and to speakers and check those settings.

winamp question

hi listers. If you're in the winamp e q window, and you're messing with the
pan left and right using the left and right arrow keys, isn't there a key
that will set it back to dead center? Thanks in advance for any help.
