Easy CD File Converter Question

2006-04-25 Thread Steve Matzura
OK, this one's got me stumped for sure. I'm using 9.0.2 to do a file
conversion, and I'm having the following problems.

1. There are three places on screen to select files. One's a copy of
an Explorer window, but which one?

2. When I use the Edit menu to add files, can I not add a folder with
a recurse option? Or do I have to do these one folder at a time?

3. Can I put the output on another drive and use the same tree
structure, having the program create the tree on the other drive, or
just exactly what are my output location options these days with this
thing?

I've gone through this before, but for some reason it's just not
clicking/sticking with me.

Thanks in advance.

From a sound quality perspective, I've been very happy with the external USB
soundblaster audigy card that I've got hooked up between my HP laptop and
Linn hi-fi system. It's capable of 24 bit processing and only cost around
£45.

You could use a USB soundcard and get a much better sound quality out of
your laptop as well as the line in capability.

Yes generally if you want line in, you'll need to get a port replicator
or
docking station for your laptop. I use Line In all the time with my IBM
Think pad, but it requires the port replicator.

stereo balance in sound forge

2006-04-25 Thread Roger R. Cusson
if you got a case where you got too much left or maybe too much right
channel and not quite a good balance of both, achieving that perfect in the
center stereo image, what are some of the ways and please include adjustment
advice as well as where to find this answer in the corresponding menus, that
i could make an audio adjustment with out site, and get to hear that i am
more or less moving a physical balance knob over either to the left or to
the right so, that in the preview mode, i can use whatever adjustment you
folks are gonna tell me about, to hear the slightly off center sound move to
the center of the sound field...

XM PCR

2006-04-25 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Hello,

An acquaintance wishes to buy an XM PCR. If one finds one in good
working condition, what should he be willing to pay for it?

I had heard that immediately after the manufacturer
discontinued making them, their value on Ebay shot way up but
subsequently returned to more normal levels. So what is such a
receiver worth now in U.S. dollars?

Thanks.

major ipod shuffle problems

2006-04-25 Thread Allison Mervis
Hi all!
I'm positively at the end of my rope with this thing! This morning, I was
transferring some files over to my shuffle, when anapod explorer froze. I
had to shut it down via the task manager in order to make the window go
away. Now, whenever I plug in my shuffle, the little windows sound plays,
alerting me that a USB device has been plugged in. However, neither Anapod
explorer nor ITunes nor the Ipod updater software recognizes the presence of
the shuffle. I've tried reinstalling and updating all three pieces of
software with no change in behavior. What else can I possibly do? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

software with no change in behavior. What else can I possibly do? Any help
 would be greatly appreciated.

 Hello,

An acquaintance wishes to buy an XM PCR. If one finds one in good
working condition, what should he be willing to pay for it?

I had heard that immediately after the manufacturer
discontinued making them, their value on Ebay shot way up but
subsequently returned to more normal levels. So what is such a
receiver worth now in U.S. dollars?

 Thanks.

Re: major ipod shuffle problems

It's ok. Usually, if you leave it plugged into the port for four hours, it's
charged. There is a light indicator for sighted people though.

Re: XM PCR

2006-04-25 Thread Paul Oeser
One thing to consider before buying one is if you can activate it
now. This may not be a problem at aall but something worth checking
on. I enjoy mine. It is the best designed digital radio for us if
it is satellite or any other of digital radio. They won't make the
others where we can see what song is playing.

setting times

2006-04-25 Thread blsmass
I don't mean with the guide, I mean that if I set the actual times by
hand and then look at the show times as listed they are an hour later. I
can go back and fix those, but it is a problem I can't explain. That's
what's weird about it. Kurt
