2009-01-30 Thread Jim

Hi there,
Been playing more with the replay program. It's getting easier.
Who is the person who recorded these tutorials?

There is doubtless another way, but here is what I would do:

1. Add the two stations. From the shows menu, chose add station,
Then enter the call letters into the dialog. Both stations are in the Media
Guide, so it will be easy to add them. Hit the Add Station link.

2. For each station, go into Properties using the application key, and copy
the Url for the station.

3. From theShows menu, choose Add show manually. Put in the name, which at
least in one case I believe to be Lunch With Folks. Paste in the Url you
copied. Make sure you're set to capture a stream. Scheduling is tricky but
it can be done.

Hi there,

OK. I got the Replay av program and have successfully installed and
registered it. However, I'm so lost that I have no idea what to do, and I'm
trying to look at some of those tutorials.
Here's the goal, and the simpler answers I get, the better.
I need to record two shows. The first is tomorrow, from 12:00-3:00 from
www.kbcs.fm

The second is Friday, from 12:00-2:00 from
www.kboo.fm

I tried adding both of these stations, but it's saying that these stations
are shows.
What do I need to do to add these stations and make sure they're scheduled
to record?
Again, I don't mind detail as long as it doesn't get to where I can't
understand it or it's too technical.

Thanks!

Jim

Hi Jim. Most people here use Replay AV. It's very keyboard friendly and
there are plenty of people here who could help you out if you run into a
problem. To learn more about what the program can do. go to:
http://applian.com/replay-av/index.php

Hope this helps.

 Howdy,

I need to know what a good and accessible program would be to record radio

streams. I'm needing to buy this within the next couple of days, as I am
needing to record a radio stream on Friday. I use JAWS 9 and have a PC
computer. I have one that uses Windows XP and one that uses Vista. So,
what do you recommend that is easy to use?
 Thanks,
 Jim

.3gp is the standard use by the NLS to record talking books and
magazines. It is also used by the Victor Stream Reader to record your own
personal notes. If you have the Victor Stream it comes with a CD
containing companion software that will convert .3pg files into .wav and
from there you can play them or convert them to .mp3 or .ogg etc.

Yeah they are video files for phones. They are low resolution files so the
picture quality is not as crisp as an MP4 file. A film converted to 3GP is

Hello. When broadcasting on Live 365 is it required to use their software.
If so, does it work with screen readers? If not, what else can I use? In
short, from start to finish, what should I use in order to broadcast
successfully on Live 365?

That's my choice because they pay expenses related to the Riaa etc and
that's the way I prefer it.

Thanks.

2009-01-30 Thread Roger Stewart
In my world, .3gp files are audio files. They are used by the NLS for
their new Digital Book standard. As I said earlier, the Victor Stream
reader makes them when you record a voice note. They are much smaller
than .mp3's and are of very good sounding quality for their size. There
are NO video components in them!

.3gp is the standard use by the NLS to record talking books and
magazines. It is also used by the Victor Stream Reader to record your
own personal notes. If you have the Victor Stream it comes with a CD
containing companion software that will convert .3pg files into .wav and
from there you can play them or convert them to .mp3 or .ogg etc.

In Winamp's alt-3 track properties dialogue, there is a button labeled
autotag. When it is pressed, tag information for the currently playing
track is filled in, if it is not already present. But the autotag dialogue
also says that this can be done, all at once, for a number of selected
tracks, by selecting the Autotag option from the right click Send To menu.
What is this referring to? Whether I click on the Send To option in
winamp's track selection dialogue, or in Windows explorer, I do not find
 an Autotag option.

disabling undo in sound forge 9

2009-01-30 Thread ANN

Hi folks,

In earlier versions of Sound Forge, it used to be possible to temporarily or
permanently disable the undo/redo feature. But, I can't find how to do this in
the latest version of Sound forge, which is version 9. Does anyone know if it's
still possible, and how to do it?

thanks.

Batch Conversion With Sound Taxi

2009-01-30 Thread Rob Armstrong
Can Sound Taxi or some other batch conversion program preserve the artist
and album folder structure when converting a batch of ripped CD's from WMA
lossless to MP3 format?

I bought Sound Taxi. And I have also tried Easy CD-DA Extractor. I specify
the output target root folder. I select the artist folders in the lossless
CD directory. When I perform the conversion, Sound Taxi says conversion
complete very quickly, but nothing happens. Easy CD-DA Extractor does not
even enable the Convert option unless I drill down and specifically select
the .WMA files.

Is there a setting or procedure that will let me preserve the artist and
album folder structure when converting files in batch?

If not, do you know of another accessible program that will accomplish this?
How do you convert a batch of ripped CD's for playing in an MP3 player?

Thanks for all help.\\Rob

Anyone Have Experience with Via High Definition Audio

2009-01-30 Thread Kelly Ford
Hello,

I recently purchased a pretty basic computer to do some Win7 testing on at
home until the final OS is released. The machine came with audio listed as
VIA VT1708B 8-channel high-definition audio. I'm wondering if anyone has
experience with this at all.

The sound for music is fine but what I'm finding is that with any synthetic
speech unless I have audio playing, the speech is cut off at the beginning
of each audio phrase being spoken. It is almost as though the audio needs
to kick in.

This is prior to installing Win7, so just with Vista. It happens with
several screen readers. I've used a variety of sound cards and audio and
not experienced this before.

If there's not a good solution to this, any suggestions on a basic sound
card to use just for the synthetic speech for the screen readers?

For what it is worth, the computer specs can be seen at
