I'm not sure I understand your question or what you're trying to do, but if your plugging headphones into a USB sound card or your USB head phones are showing up as a sound card then you can configure Windows to make that the default sound card and then all of your sound will go to those head

High Tom, You are correct, you cannot play those NLS books on your computer. Like I said in an earlier post, the people at the Bard Talk website has those encrypted. So no you can't convert those to a standard audio file. But between you and me both, I wish we could. My best regards. John.
