Barry, You know what I think happened here? I believe iTunes jumped in and played the Chopin for some reason. I do have those files I mentioned in my library. Occasionally iTunes will do things like that for me for some reason. I'm still not very good working with it,. I think that's my fault because I have not taken as much time as I need to in order to get comfortable with it. Sorry, I tried. Thanks Kris. Yes I didn't really understand where you were coming from when you referred to Chopin. These things can happen. All the best. Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me
Hi Barry, sorry, but I don't know these song's titles... But, I would like to suggest you an app: it's called shazam, and it works on iphone, ipad, ipod touch, windows-mobile-based-devices and s60 phones (v2 v3)... It's really easy-to-use: run the application, select tag now; then the program will record 10 seconds of the song, and it will search for its title in the itunes store I always use it, and it's never wrong! :-) Vincenzo. - Original Message - From: Barry Chapman ba...@bchapman.id.au To: PC-Audio pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 12:47 AM Subject: Can anyone identify these songs for me Hi all, I was going through some old cassettes and came across some Christmas songs which I would like to identify. Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me
Hi Barry, the second one is definitely by Mark Bolin or T-Rex or one of his other bands. You might get results by typing in Mark Bolin and Christmas. The last one, Christmas in Killarney, sounds like Billy Murray. I found out that he lived till 1955, but I couldn't find any references on the net that he ever recorded this song, so I might be wrong. Hope that helps a little. Take care Alexandra - Original Message - From: Barry Chapman ba...@bchapman.id.au To: PC-Audio pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, December 28, 2010 12:47 AM Subject: Can anyone identify these songs for me Hi all, I was going through some old cassettes and came across some Christmas songs which I would like to identify. Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me
Thanks to all who tried to help me identify some songs. So far I have nothing on track 1, track 2 appears to be by Marc Bolan (perhaps with T-Rex) but I don't know the title, on track 3 I still have nothing, track 4 is Christmas in New Orleans by Dr John (there is a different song with the same name by Louis Armstrong), track 5 is the Carol of the Birds but I don't know who is performing it and track 6 is Christmas in Killarney by Dennis Day. For anyone else who can fill in the gaps, the link to the audio sample is: http://users.tpg.com.au/asnblind/UnidentifiedChristmas.m3u I realise this is probably not strictly in scope for the list, so I won't take up any more of the list's time, except to say thanks again for those who were able to help. Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me
Hi Barry, I don't know the first one. The second one is Chopin's Minute Waltz and the third and fourth are also Chopin. I believe three is a nocturne and four is a prelude, I think. Sorry but that's the best I can do just off the top of my head. I have all three on CD, which happens to be a CD of all Chopin stuff. No idea on any one of them, but I think I'd do a google on Dr. Demento to see if there's a way to contact him directly. Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me
You can usually get the name and artist of a song by typing a line from the song in quotation marks in the Google search edit box followed by the word song outside the quotes. This will usually produce links that in and of themselves will reveal the information sought. I have done this many times with rock songs that I have heard on the radio.
