On my last trip I did backup onto USB thumb drives. My Android tablet has both an SD card slot and a USB port, so I just took the card out of the camera and plugged it into the tablet, attached the USB thumb drive and used the tablet to copy the files. Easy, simple and lightweight. -- Mark
