Nevertheless, I have seen it. There are right handers who are left eye
dominant who turn their heads into an un-natural position so they can aim
with their left eye. They would probably do better to shoot left handed.

I'm right-handed but my natural instinct has always been to use my left eye.
When I first bought a rangefinder camera I had to train myself to use the right
eye. Now I'm ambieyestrous.

I have two of those hoods, which were meant for the 35-85mm with film.
It's easier to show a picture, so here. The hood mounted is meant for
the Vivitar S1 90-180, and it seems to work perfectly on an APS-C sensor
camera.

I've always been right eyed, but my left eye is better in tight, so I've

Right handed as well but my right bicep is torn, so I've become fairly

The viewfinder on a dslr tends to be towards the left of the camera body,
whereas for a right-handed person the sights of a rifle are just above your
right cheek when you're aiming. It would be impossible to use your left eye.

My hood (which may not have been original equipment for the lens; I got mine
used and not in original packaging) looked far different. It was shorter, had a
wider flare and was plastic. I don't remember if it had any graphics on it to
indicate it was a Vivitar or S1 hood.

I'm ambidextrous. With film bodies, I used my left eye. Digital I tend
