Collin, if I read you correctly, you can use the tangent function to find the
height. The tangent of the angle equals the opposite leg (from the angle)
divided by the base length.

Ken's right - If my math is correct, if you multiply the length of the
base by the tangent of the angle, you'll have the height.

Baboons for sure. They live on a kopje on the other side of the road and the
local rubbish dump is about 1km away. Mind you, baboons are very adept at
scaling security fences, even with razor wire toppings so this low barbed
wire fence would be a doddle.

The 16-45 I liked very much but it failed suddenly to zoom beyond around
28 and I replaced it with a Tamron 17-50/2.8 as an all-round zoom.
But a few weeks ago, after about 5 years use of the Tamron lens, I felt
with my bag and now the Tamron lens has a zoom problem. I didn't

Thanks, Christine.
The image was taken with the original Optio, which does not produce
the same quality as the better current DSLRs, and I processed it
quickly in Photoshop, using the automatic Smartfix.
Just as an exercise, I went back to the original file and processed it
a bit more carefully:

I would like to figure out how to use the monocular. Can't find
instructions anywhere.
It has a 4-division reticle inside with each division having 10 divisions.
It appears that these may represent angles, with the outside edges being the
full 6.2 degrees. But I could be wrong on that.

De-Lurking for a minute. The Pentax 16-50 f:\2.8 is a great lens --
until it breaks. I have replaced Three, Count-em, Three SDM motors, and
am going to have to send it off four number four -- or Five, if you
count the original motor. I have already purchased the Tamron equiv --

A few years back, I bought a 2012 Mac Mini with a 1.1 TB fusion drive.

That looks pretty good. Usually here we just lift the bike over a gate then
jump over. There are small cattle-stops on the trails in a couple of places
too, I've always hated those things but never had any problems with them.

When in Rarotonga we took a 4WD tour sitting in the back of an old Land Rover
with a canvas roof. It was set up a bit like a troop carrier with bench seats
along each side. Turns out the roof was quite leaky. A downpour hit after the
tour was finished and the driver unrolled the roof down

Narrow? You should see one they built at the top of a hillside park here a few
years ago. Not only was it much narrower than that, it was also a see-saw. I
was never tempted to try it.
