Oh and I forgot that adobe now has k-1 and k-3 ii profiles built in as
well. So you aren't stuck with just adobe standard or embedded
anymore. You can pick natural, portrait, etc. I rarely use anything
other than reversal film (which sadly isn't supported) so the profiles
are pretty useless to me.
Yes you can just convert pef to dng with the dng converter. Or you can
shoot DNG and just open the raw. Do note that the K-1 has a bunch of
advanced features that the older camera raw does not support like
multiple area white balance. In the latest lightroom, it works with
the K-3 or at least it
Nice photo of a very interesting bird. I know what it's like trying to get a
photo of a bird that won't sit still. Our fantails are a bit like that.

I like it but it seems the sharpest part of the photograph are the
foreground backlit leaves, in the upper right corner. By the comparison
the rest seems a bit soft, which wouldn't even be noticeable except for
those leaves.
