The AF in the K-5 was terrible. Plain and simple. The k-7 was even more reliable. It might have been slightly (not really though) slower but when it locked you had a good lock. The K-5 IIs and K-3 are much, much more reliable. The K-3 is the best focusing camera I have ever used on static

I haven't noticed autofocus performance on the K1, apart for the impressive looking number of AF sensors shown in the viewfinder. I haven't rejected a shot becasue of focus issues. The viewfinder is larger than my K5, but even with manual lenses I use the autofocus confirmation as an aid for

I'm not so sure. The 16-50 was the first lens that was plagued by the SDM problem, and so there are an awful lot of posts that complain about it. I'd think twice about buying another SDM lens from that generation even though so far (touch wood) my three have shown no problems. On Sun, Jan 08,

Not surprising. Your expectation is based on what you paid for it new. They're thinking about how much they can sell it for, and they're not going to offer more than half that (or less), because they have to cover their overhead and still make a profit. K5 with a kit lens *might* bring in $450
