Mine is a Tamron 17-50/2.8 that I have been using for some years now. It feels more solid than the Pentax 16-45/4 that I used before and of which the zoom stopped working > 28 - 35. The corners are a bit weak at 17 mm, but otherwise I like this lens. I haven't seen a 16-50/2.8 around in Europe.

I can't believe JPGs would no longer be shown in Vista in near future. But I don't care much about thumbnails as long as files can be viewed/organized with the right software such as PS Elements, LR or Picasa. Vista Photo Gallery disqualifies itself as a tool for this if not able to thumbnail/
