Hello,
Does anyone have hands-on experience with Novoflex rapid focus lenses
on a istD. I would like to know if the exposure button is mechanical
or electrical (if electrical I plan to replace the connector). I
already know (or guess) that the Novoflex uses a simple T-mount
adapter.

Fred,
Thanks! This is the information I was looking for. The specific
novoflex adapter is news for me. I need to add extra costs when
bidding.

The google hotspot links to a zip file. Maybe you need to embed the

I can't decide which RAW converter is the best. I have tried the
latest Adobe beta and Pentax.
Adobe has more options like noise and color fringing reduction. The
white balance settings drive me nuts. Only As Shot or Manual are
usable. Adobe RAW would be nice since it allows me to convert PEF to

Rob,
I will try this. I should have a kodak grey card somewhere. I guess I
have to shoot this greycard under controlled lighting with the
different camera white balance settings. Convert it to neutral gray in
Adobe RAW and save the profile. Correct me if i'm wrong?

What you are missing is
Has anyone mounted a Peleng 8 mm fisheye on a istD? Apparently the
mirror could be damaged (the rear part of the lens extends a lot).
Also I am looking for some sample jpg's of this lens on the istD.
Jack
On others brands it can damage/lock the mirror:

I don't have the peleng in my glass collection.

This is called parallax error. A basic pano head is essential when you
start with pano's.
A simple bracket is good enough. Pentax SLR's have their tripod mount
in the lens axis. Any straight bracket will help you move the nodal
point above the tripod centre.
My first pano head and tripod was a

I have an istD with 330FTZ, 400FTZ and 500FTZ flashes.
The camera is in green mode and I take flash shots at ISO 200, 400 and
800 ASA all from a tripod, the same subject and the flashes in
auto-TTL mode.
The 200 ISO shots are all underexposed, 400 ISO is more or less
correctly exposed and 800 ISO
I have seen this odd behavior also on the istD with the internal flash
in P-TTL mode.
If you have an older external TTL flash this could also be funny: Take
3 pictures in full auto mode with ISO 200, 400 and 800. 200 is
underexposed, 800 ISO overexposed! A TTL flash should expose the same
