I think the small sensor is here to stay. It's good enough for many
people and will always be cheaper than the full size sensor. Olympus is
basing it's whole approach on this, and Pentax will probably keep the
little sensor for a sub $1000 DSLR. Canon does have the upgrade path to

Looks and sounds pretty good, and what I like about the new lens is the
coverage from 24 - 70, and it takes the same filter size as my FA*
series glass (67mm). No new polarizers required. And my 28 - 70 2.8
will kick in nicely above this. And I can't wait to see images from the

Hi!
Remember, Pentax said the would come up with new version of their
DSLR(eventually s) every six month. This one is a good start. I am
waiting for 6 months more. Anyway, I don't have money for
that.
DA lenses are indeed troubling. No matter how fit and good and so on
they are, they take away t
I have a feeling that the "PRO" Dslr will be 645
sized, meaning the DA lenses are for the aps Dslr.

No, but how can you critique a camera you haven't touched or seen?
Let's give Pentax the benefit of the doubt until someone gets their
hands on one.
Well, a 16-35mm FA* zoom will be nice - but how much it would cost? Even if
(let's hope) Pentax will make such a lens, there is still room for a cheaper
DA equivalent, because that'll be the standard lens for *istD (instead of a
18-something FAJ cheap zoom).

William,
It seems the LXen aren't treating you well.
Have you considered switching to another body
as your go-to 35mm body?

The 6 month cycle makes me nervous. Do people really need that many
upgrades? Sigh... my newest PC is 3 years old now.

So, who knows enough about film planes, distance-to-film, etc to say if
that K mount compatability would theoretically live on in a K->645 adapter
to use those

After checking the pictures, I have the feeling that the CF door might be
