As some of you may know, I enabled myself with a Kodak Medalist II some
time ago, which has a magnificent 100mm f3.5 lens. Unfortunatly
You'd think there'd be enough demand for film for Kodak to make a profit
manufacturing and selling it too. But that doesn't seem to be the case,
at least not in the eyes of their management.

There's a guy in Massachusetts who does the best job remanufacturing
120 to 620 that I've seen. He turns the ends down trims the edge to
spec. and adds a metal insert so the 620 film advance key matches
perfectly. His product looks like real quality work. He only seems to
sell TMax 100 but

so called power sellers sell a lot of cheap junk. Good individual ads are

Takinami-san rates it at the top of the Pentax 28mm heap in his
comparison of 28mm lenses on Stan Halpin's site, equal to the
K28/3.5, which is high praise
Personally, I've had the A and FA 28/2.8s.
The FA is excellent throughout, the A is a little soft wide open.
Both are at their best around f/4.5-5.6 (two stops down from wide
open), and both have wonderful rendering qualities.

I have a K 135 f3.5. How much do want to pay for it. (I never use it,
if I want something light I grab the M 120mm and if I want a 135 I grab

An M42 DSLR would not be old technology would it?
The whole purpose of one would be to use the millions

It might not be that small a niche if it were designed correctly it

You're right. It would be a niche camera for screwmount owners. But

I believe SLR sales are at an all-time high. That's do of course to the
transition to digital, but it certainly doesn't spell doom.
And what's more, it's due to the transition to digital. My brain will now
