I have to say I tried a couple times my Mezt 40MZ2 with my D. It did overexpose.
Now the problem is I have the old 3701 adapter without flash
compensation... reason why I won't use it often...

Several flash users responded to my poll last week.
Every one but me seems to have success in M, Tv, Av, and Green modes.
Both with Pentax and Sigma flashes.
Looks like it's just me screwing up again/still.:-(
Thanks to those that answered.
Carry on.

Dave,
I tend to carry my AF-500FTZ. I found that shooting at ISO 400 with
about -.7 or sometimes -1 exposure compensation tends to work for me. I
shoot usually in P mode with the lenses below.
But Iam usually shooting my limited lenses and hardly use flash.

I use the Pentax AF-360 FGZ.
I've mostly used it for action photography but I've also used it for
product photos. I mostly use it in A mode when shooting action
because it seems to use less battery power per flash so I have less of a
chance of missing shots. I use the wireless feature a lot
Don't have a *istD, DS or any version thereof.
Don't use a flash. Well, the popup sometimes.
That was easy.

I shoot with the Sigma 500 Super in AV, Manual, Hyper, and TV modes at various
ISOs from 200 to 800. I've used it in trailing curtain mode and high-speed
synch mode. I find that it works well and delivers good results under all
conditions, as long as the contacts are clean and the flash is

Yes, In Auto, Manual or Strobe modes. It will not do TTL. But I found
that the Sb-24 in Auto outperforms the onboard TTL flash for exposure
accuracy, even when close enough that the power differential is irrelevant.

Hi Charles,
I haven't found a contact to cover up. The only way I know of is to use
a non A and shoot in manual.
I went to a lot of bother to make my bellows and microscope work P-TTL.
