My RB67 is the quietest camera I've got :)

Being the proud user of Pentax Spotmatics of various vintages, at different
times, MX's, LX's
and one loan ZX-M I am surprised at how quiet the ZX-M is by
comparison. The Spot's had
an extremely noticeable Ker-Chunck from the Mirror slap my MX's have a
slightly, (but not much),
quieter mirror

I second that. However, just tonight, a new MD LX arrive, and at 5fps on my
LX, I was quite amazed at how quite and peaceful the camera was while doing
all that work with the mirror.

The K2 is either quite noisy or very noisy depending on the mirror lockup :)

Even with just the power winder, the M-series cameras are quite
noisy. And when you let the motor drive on an MX run at full

Use mirror lockup. The KX is incredibly noisy with the mirror down, with
it up all I hear is a click when the shutter is 1/125-1/1000. As a matter
of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the KX and K2 are both the noisiest and
quietest Pentaxes, depending on if the mirror is locked up or not :) As
