Finally got it apart. Found a stray scrap of metal of
some sort - no idea what it broke off of. It's in the
shape of a thin tab with a bump like a contact of some
sort in the end. It had gotten in the works in the
bottom of the body, jamming the mechanism. Removed it
and the camera functions

transport, or shutter release lately. Have studied
various sites detailing trouble spots for these
cameras, and am trying to disassemble
answer I've found. Even then I scratch a few.
And yes, it is clockwise to loosen.
