Just keep the three legs of the tripod together and boom, instant
monopod. And you can still use it as a tripod. Doesn't anyone else do
this?
My tripods are too heavy and bulky to do this comfortably, but my
husband has a smaller tripod made by Adorama that is small enough to do
it.
My Tiltall has a front leg that unscrews and screws into the bottom of
the center stalk. Would be convenient as a monopod if it weren't for the

Ditto. Actually, not just sports, but on boat rides or anything else
involving motion or anything where you have less time to set up.

When I'm in a football stadium and don't have room to set up a monopod.
Plus a monopod is better for sports than a tripod.

I have a lightweight Cullman Magic 2 tripod that can stand 58 inches high.
I also use it as a walking stick for hiking.
