I didn't realize Illy became available in the US.
That brand reminds me of nice areas where I had that coffee -
Europe (Italy, possibly something else), Argentina, ..
Also, since people started showing their coffee-cup shots,
it reminded me about the shot I took (and I believe

What pre-ground? All I saw was a cup of the extracted form.

True. He could be simply using an Illy logo cup for some other
brand/method of coffee/espresso brewing with freshly ground beans.
Let's hope so, shall we?

Thanks, Igor!
In my last two trips to Italy, I noted that almost all the good
restaurants and cafes used illy. When I returned, I found illy USA on
the internet: http://www.illyusa.com
They do indeed ship direct to customer in the US, and I have been
using their coffee for the last 9 months. I
At home I only grind my own, but in the office, it's a bit
inconvenient, especially since I am the only one who drinks espresso.
This is a machine I purchased from illy USA. It takes pre-packaged
packets (not exactly pods), but it also takes ground coffee, either
pre-ground loose coffee or from
As I noted above, Darren, it is an illy cup containing coffee brewed
from illy cialde:

Admittedly, fresh ground is better, but the illy pods have real illy
ground coffee, and make a very fine cup of brew indeed. I
I'm expressing genuine ignorance here. Does Illy automatically come
in ground form? Our local coffee shop (the Lexington Coffee Shop) is
connected with a local bean roaster (the Lexington Roasting Co.) so I
have long since lost track of the outside world.

I buy the whole bean for my coffee at home, and sometimes to grind at

I liked frank's attempt a bit better. Though the exposure is accurat
and the image sharp enough, it's too centered to be really interesting
to any but the totally addicted. That is unless you intend to use it to
advertise for a Diner.
