We have several plover varieties in the states - the piping plover on
the east coast is endangered.. western snowy's are threatened (or maybe
the othe way around)but their eyes and beaks are less colorful than
yours...
cloes to killdeers, Paul, yes...
hard to get sharp shots of them the dash
Thanks for that, Paul, Yes, apart from the red beak the Killdeer is
remarkable similar.

I went for my weekly drive to Sable Dam this afternoon. Very hot & dry.
Hardly saw anything (2 Giraffe, 2 Elephants, some Dassies, 4 Kudus & a
few birds - not a single Impala). Sable Dam is still about 40% full so
should last out to the rains which are only about 2½ months away. Here
are shots
