FAT is the default for removable media, zip disks, floppies, and CD's use variations on FAT. If you just format a card using a PC it should use FAT. At 09:21 AM 1/29/04, you wrote: My daughter has a PC, but I'm Microsoft illiterate. Is FAT the default format or do I need to do something special?

Hi Paul I know that Nikon and Lexar cards had problems in the early stages. This might be the case for the early Pentax digitals. Not a solution just a try to make you feel better response. Dave > My *ist D arrived today, but I've been unable to get it

Paul, first you must format the card within the *ist D. It's the first command on the menu, I think. Have you done this? If you've formatted it and the camera won't recognize it, then either piece of equipment could be defective. The *ist D seems to have a high defect rate (based on posts here)
