Well, it was batteries. That old Nikon is a power hog, and its battery
meter is not so accurate (similar to IstD, from

It was never a major problem. It only happened twice in the first week
I had the camera and hasn't been a problem since. But after it
happened the second time I started reformatting the card after
downloading the files.
This starts to sound familiar. I had a file corruption issue with my
first few pictures on the istD which went away immediately on
reformatting the card in the Pentax. It had previously been formatted
in my Olympus C5050. I don't recall this happening when I switched
from Nikon to Olympus, but
