I don't use LR on the iPad, but I do use various other tools there. The iPad
Pro 11" (2018-2019 edition) I have is outfitted with 1T data storage and 6G RAM
… It works well with the 50Mpixel raw image files out of the Hasselblad
907x/CFVII 50c. A very fast and powerful little machine!

Lr uses the GPU now. You can add an external GPU
Yes, that's true, Godfrey. Adobe muddied the waters considerably by
renaming "old" Lightroom to Lightroom Classic CC and added this
multi-platform Lightroom CC app.
I had a quick look at it and determined it's a toy of no use to me. I
never do quick edits on my iPad which is about its limit.

There is a distinction to be made: Lightroom Classic is the "old way",
desktop-based Lightroom with some Cloud service stuff added on that you can
choose to use or not. Lightroom CC is the "new way" of cloud-based "operations
from everywhere". Adobe wants to get people onto LRCC but it's not

Alan, there are no Cloud operations unless you specifically perform
them. All the software is installed on your workstation (or tablet).
All your files are local to your workstation too.
The "cloud" thing is largely a Marketing hype buzzword. What Cloud
gives you is the optional ability to sync

Lr uses the GPU now. You can add an external GPU module and get more
speed. Lr also makes
I finally had to go to the $10 cloud version so I could upgrade OSX for some
other apps. I love the latest version of PS. Selecting and cloning tools are
much improved over PS6. It’s just as fast and convenient as installed software.

Thanks Bruce, that is exactly the information I was looking for.

The software is completely the same. The features and frequency of
updates are also the same.
I subscribe to the ten buck option because (a)
The 1Tb includes lightroom and lightroom classic. You probably only need
lightroom classic and photoshop. The combo should be lightroom classic and
photoshop. That's what I have.

Hi, I am toying with the idea of subscribing to Photoshop/Lightroom.
The website lists two options:
"Photography", which includes Photoshop and Lightroom for US$9.99/month
or
Photoshop for US$20.99 and then Lightroom plan for US$9.99.
This Lightroom comes with 1T of online storage, something I
