I mostly use the Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 EX DC and the Pentax DA 18-135
f3.5- 5.6 WR. Both my lenses are excellent copies and tack sharp.
Note: I get a combined seamless focal length from 10 to 135 mm (15 to
200 mm in APS-C term), covering my genre of Street, Travel,
Architecture and Landscape

Best for what?
The two zooms I regularly use are my 18-250 and my 16-50.
If I need versatility with decent quality, it is very difficult to beat
the 18-250. It's not the sharpest or fastest zoom, but it's sharp and
fast enough for most things, and when you need it, the range is very handy.
My
I'm not sure that I should answer this, as I don't own a modern, i.e. a
Pentax zoom that's actually being manufactured now. Nor do I own any
Pentax Digital zooms, but for what it is you cannot beat the FA 20-35mm
f4.0. Sharp, decent quality build, even though it's mostly plastic, it
has a

All good. I have maybe a slight preference ordering:
- 50-135
- 16-50
- 60-250
but they all feel good, work well, and the 16-50, plus either of the others
depending on the venues you shoot in, is about all the lens anybody really
needs.

I have all the DA* zooms. The 60-250/4 is the best of the bunch by a slim
margin, but they're all quite good. Better than the Pentax primes I own, but I
must add that I've never owned the best A* and FA* primes.

I find most of you are quoting the obvious expensive (*) Zoom Lenses.
Someone also mentioned out of my price range, so hope you folks get
the message. Not being a Pro, we tend to avoid the obvious great
expensive (*) lenses - DA 16-50 f2.8, DA 50-135 f2.8, DA 60-250
f2.8. And what a let down on

I tend to use mainly primes but my DA* 50-135 is my preferred lens for
portraits- lovely rendition of skin tones
