I am building a small colection of Pentax Brand (SMC) K mount manual focus

Got quite a few from the 15mm-A to the 200mm-K
Today I got my most recetn addition, SMC-M 35mm/2.8, at a great price from
Ebay.
Its a userable collection, so nothing is suppossed to be pristine, just
If the aperture blades are noticeably slow, the lens is worthless
without investing in a CLA, and even then it may be useless depending on
the cause of the problem. You have no way of knowing how slow the
blades are, or if they are slow a consistent amount at each exposure and
at each aperture.

the back

It's a matter of closing the aperture before the shutter fires. The blades
are spring loaded and held wide open while you focus (open aperture
metering). When you press
I know what water can do -- I had a old super-takumar which got drenched
and its aperture ring failed :)
